Young Readers Festival Poster (Self-Initiated)

Hong Kong International Literary is an NGO that promote the value of words.

Exisiting Material from Hong Kong International Literary Festival (HKILF)'s page.
While the colour is bright and the illustrations are engaging, there is a lack of cohesive colour palette, typography and composition. Majority of the participating schools and youth are teenagers, but the style of the exisiting material is more suitable for younger audience. Lastly, there are no Chinese title though the festival takes place in Hong Kong, where Cantonese is the official language and the most spoken language among the audience.

(ORIGINAL DESIGN)
Re-design

The style is now more energetic, interactive and eye-catching. The two colours from HKILF's logo are used throughout to have a more cohesive look. While serit font are usually used for literature and writing, I have chosen to use a black font. Bold and heavy typography is used to mimic books stacking on each other.

It is understood that as an NGO, it might be difficult to have a design person around all the time. The minimal design allow simple re-application for social media, emails, or event materials including poster, banners, event ID and stickers.
